Sandpoint Idaho | Schweitzer Mountain Summer Wedding
Courtney and Douglas’ North Idaho wedding day was one of those days where I kept looking around thinking, “Yep… this is why I love my job!” Between the incredible mountain views, the gorgeous bright florals, the sweetest little details, and a couple who clearly knows how to have a good time together, this wedding was an absolute DREAM to photograph.
And let’s start with the views because WOW. A wedding at Schweitzer Mountain already gives you an incredible backdrop, but Courtney and Douglas’ day took full advantage of it. The mountains stretched out behind them during their ceremony, creating the most beautiful setting for such a special moment. North Idaho really showed off for these two!
One of my favorite parts of their day was their scenic first look. There is just something so special about giving a couple a quiet moment together before the craziness of the wedding day begins.
And Courtney looked absolutely incredible!
Her bridal look was elegant and classic, but then she added the most gorgeous custom bridal cape that gave her look a little extra WOW! The delicate details of the cape moving in the mountain breeze made for some seriously dreamy portraits.
And Douglas? He cleaned up pretty well too.
Together, these two were so natural in front of the camera, which made my job incredibly easy.
The bright, colorful floral arrangements were such a fun contrast against the soft greens and blues of the mountain landscape. The pops of pink, coral, orange, and red brought so much personality to the day and made the ceremony space feel vibrant and joyful.
I LOVE when couples bring pieces of their everyday personalities into their wedding. It doesn't have to be some huge elaborate detail. Sometimes the little things—the drinks you love, the people you surround yourself with, the inside jokes, or the traditions you share—are what make a wedding feel completely personal.
There were emotional moments, huge smiles, plenty of celebrating, and those candid little moments in between that are some of my absolute favorites to photograph.
Courtney and Douglas, thank you for letting me be part of your beautiful North Idaho wedding day! Your Schweitzer Mountain wedding was seriously one for the books, and I am SO glad I got to capture all of it—from the big moments to the little details, the gorgeous mountain views, the colorful flowers, and, of course, the matcha and coffee.
